Metrics Real Estate Multi-strategy fund (ASX: MRE): Combining Real Estate Debt and Equity for Total Return
Metrics Credit Partners CEO and Managing Partner Andrew Lockhart recently spoke with Sharecafe about the Metrics Real Estate Multi‑Strategy Fund (ASX: MRE), highlighting how its blend of real estate debt and equity aims to deliver monthly income alongside long‑term total return.
Designed as a pure‑play real estate strategy, MRE invests across the capital structure, with roughly half of its capital allocated to senior secured real estate debt and half to real estate equity. This mix provides exposure to both defensive income streams and value‑add development opportunities across Australia and New Zealand.
“MRE was designed to participate across the full capital structure — from senior secured real estate debt through to real estate equity — to deliver attractive income and total return.”
—Andrew Lockhart, CEO and Managing Partner, Metrics Credit Partners
The fund targets a total return of 10–12% per annum net of fees, supported by monthly cash income from its diversified debt portfolio.
Lockhart also emphasises Metrics’ disciplined risk management, diversification and active project oversight, positioning MRE as a listed option for investors seeking both income and growth from private real estate markets.
